Porto palafittico di Carrasqueira, Alcàcer do Sal, Portugal, 16th Feb 2013

A spectacular location to say the least. I was based very far from there but I went back to the pile-dwelling port in Carrasqueira three times to wait for the right day and light. The light was not good so I opted for a “black and white” to value the beautiful Pile-dwelling port in Carrasqueira.  All this, when I was just a few hours away from having to make my way back to Italy and the chances to get a good shoot were always less.

It was Saturday, and therefore the location was full of photographers so I ventured on a small nearby island to be able to take some shots before sunset, but as the tide was rising I was sinking deeper and deeper into the mud and a few minutes later I had to get back on the piles.
