Pile-dwelling port in Carrasqueira, Alcàcer do Sal, Portugal, 16th Feb 2013.

A spectacular location to say the least. I was based very far from there but I went back to the pile-dwelling port in Carrasqueira three times to wait for the right day and light. During my first visit, the tide was too low and the port did not show all its charm, the second time the sky was totally cloudless and it did not show an interesting light.

My last visit I did it on the Saturday, just a few hours before I had to make my way back to Italy. It was literally my last chance, there were a lot of us trying to take the right pic, all armed with our reflex and filters, but strange enough, everybody lost interest in the port right after sunset and they all left. I just had a feeling that the distant city lights could give me something more, I patiently waited and I was rewarded with a shot that I absolutely love. This shot cost me a 15 hours car trip but eventually ... The Light.
