Vasco da Gama Bridge, Lisbon, Portugal, 12th Feb 2013

During the photo tour in Portugal I waited for all the sunrises at the Vasco da Gama bridge at Lisbon, a wonderful piece of architecture surrounded by a magnificent landscape. Immediately after taking this photo a filter slipped off the holder bouncing on the dock where I was standing and falling. The recovery was tragicomic, I sank into the muck and as I was trying to walk I extracted my muddy foot bare twice because my shoe remained in the mud. I eventually managed to recover everything (not without effort) and incredibly the filter was intact, it only had a tiny scratch that did cause me much trouble. On the other hand, I was stuck in the mud to the waist and there was a bunch of Portuguese photographers looking at me as if I were mad, and actually I was, hehe.
