My name is Fabrizio Pescali. I am 41 years old. I was born in Milan and still live there where I work as a keeper in an apartment building in downtown. My passion for photography emerged relatively late, to be precise in 2009 when I bought my first digital reflex, a Nikon D90 with Nikkor 16-85 lens.
I would have never dreamed how deeply that purchase would change my way of living. At the beginning, I only had the intention of taking some photos of our holidays, but the first sunset I shot with that camera literally showed me a whole new world.
The day after the purchase I went to Como to take some pictures of the lake during sunset and as fate would have it, that sunset was one of those you never forget. The whole sky was orange and the spectacle was so beautiful that from that moment on I began devoting more and more free time to searching that light and the emotions it caused on me. I like to think that it was precisely fate to direct me towards photography; maybe if I had found a normal light my approach would have been very different and I would not be here to create this website.
In this, as in everything I do, there are no half measures, so I embarked into this passion wholeheartedly. I read many books, invested money and bought new equipment such as tripod, remote controls, filters, and many other things, and most important, I posted my photos on the forum NikonClub Italy where very competent people evaluated my work helping me in that way to grow as landscape photographer. Thanks to these people my development as photographer has been faster than usual and I will be always grateful for the help they give me even now, both with regard to the shooting phase and the postproduction of files.
During my first year as photographer, Serena, our Newfoundland dog Leo and I used to take the car on weekends and drive around taking photos to post them online in the following days. Now business commitments and the difficulty of our sweet 12 year-old dog in standing certain efforts force us to focus on our passion only during the four weeks of annual vacation that we usually divide into two.
In our first holiday with the reflex we visited Tuscany, Gran Sasso National Park and Monti Sibillini. In the next one, instead, I flew to the other side of the world and visited the United States. I actually left a piece of my heart in Oregon. Last year I visited Cantabria, and also Portugal at the beginning of 2013. I hope to visit Iceland, Canada, Norway, California and Australia in the future..........
Now I completely devote my holidays to photography and I have the great fortune of sharing this passion with my beautiful wife Serena; you can find some of her shots in the portfolio.
